Old Whittington Competition Results

Apart from 14 people booking their places and not turning up to play or even pay for their places (4 others actually had the decency to let me and I managed to fill their places) the day was still a success and helped to raise some much needed funds for the bowls club and still hand out half decent prize money to those who got to the qualifying stages of the competition.

I am miffed that I could not pay out the original amounts to those that qualified, but that was out of my hands.

It was a chilly but nice sunny day and gave the bowlers who did turn up the opportunity to show what they could do on a tricky green and they did not disappoint as there was some superb bowling to be seen.

The green did play its part however and I think it surprised a few of the bowlers that play the green at least twice a season in the Chesterfield and District League.

Thanks to all those that turned up to play and congratulations to all the bowlers even if you did not make it through to the qualifying rounds.

Old Whittington Bowls Club hope that you enjoyed your days bowling and that you will come back in 2010 and play in our competitions that will be arranged at a later date. Hopefully we will be running a mixed pairs competition and running the singles competition with qualifying sessions leading up to a grand final.
