If you are struggling to find that last little stocking
filler, then have a look on the PeakFM website to find the nearest stockist of
the 2012 Calendar.
For the sake of £5 you could help the two fantastic
charities that this calendar aims to help.
I am not a salesman, but we all know someone whether it be a
loved one, a relative, a friend or a friend of a friend that has been hit very
hard with the bad news that they have that dreaded “C” word.
Yes I mean “Cancer”.
If you would have come up to me and told me that I would
lose my brother to this horrible disease, I would have told you that you were
mad. Unfortunately it was true and Ian passed away aged 46 and left behind a
wife and four lovely children. He also left behind a mum and dad and a brother
who all loved him to bits.
All the people in the calendar as well as the people who
created the calendar have been affected by this deadly disease and gave their
time FREE of charge to help raise
funds for The National Hereditary Breast Cancer Helpline and the Nenna Kind
Cancer Drop-In Centre.

Congratulations to Pam Wright and Brimington Bowls
Club for once again holding their open singles competition for the Derek Heaton
Memorial Trophy on 30th September 2011.
All monies raised on the day were in
aid of MacMillan Cancer Nursing.
Thanks to all that entered and to
those that turned out to watch what I understand was a fantastic day of bowling
by all that entered.
The eventual winner was Nathan Broom
(Bolsover Colliery) 21 v Geoff Smith (Pilsley) 19. Well done to both finalists.
I understand that all around the
green was still full at 9:45pm and that the dignitaries stayed until the end as
it was such a good show of bowling.
You will be pleased to know that
with your support the total raised at present stands at a FANTASTIC £1811.64p
Good luck for 2012 Pam
The C.A.D.B.A presentation evening has now been booked and is at Chesterfield Miners Welfare on Saturday 5th November. Please ensure you get your tickets A.S.A.P via your club Secretary.
Please Note
Players that are
withdrawn from team lists during the season after already taking part in
games will not be added back onto the list (i.e if you withdraw any players
from the Saturday list, they will not be added back to play for Saturdays
for the rest of the season).
If these players then take part in any games
after being withdrawn then that player will forfeit their score 21 - 0.
